March 2007
Two new
Full Members joined in March. Superior Pine Products is a family owned forest company based in SE Georgia . TimberStar is a new timber company providing financial and operational solutions to timberland owners in the U.S. and Canada.

We have three new
Corresponding Members - Agrotain, ArborGen, and the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources.

September 2006
We are pleased to welcome Smurfit Carton de Venezuela and Pat Lee, a consulting forester, as Corresponding Members.

April 2006
Alligare has joined the FNC as a Corresponding Member. Alligare provides weed and brush control products to vegetation management and forestry customers throughout the United States.

January 2006
The
Forestry Faculty at Universidad de Concepción has now joined NCSU and VPI as the 3rd host institution for the FNC. This arrangement will strengthen the program and improve the efficiency of the services we provide to members, both in Latin America and the United States.

Timbervest and Sonoco are now Full Members as part of the Miliken Consortium which also includes Milliken Forestry, Jordan Lumber, and Regions Morgan Keegan Trust. Timbervest manages timber and timberland investments for public and corporate pension plans, corporations, foundations, endowments, and high net worth individuals. Sonoco is a low-cost global leader in providing customer-preferred packaging solutions.

International Paper has announced plans to divest most or all of their forest land. Consequently, IP will be withdrawing from the FNC effective January 1, 2006. We are sorry to see them go. We wish all the best to our colleagues and friends at IP and hope they weather this upheaval in their lives.
